The Better Business Bureau today released a list of the top 10 scams and rip-offs of 2010. Job hunters and those struggling to make money and get out of debt were common targets of fraudsters, hackers and deceptive businesses in this tough economy. There has been a lot of press lately about counterfeit money showing up in our area. In fact, we are seeing every denomination from ten dollar bills up to 100’s. When a counterfeit bill is presented to us here at the bank, we are required to confiscate the bill and turn it over to the Secret Service. It’s very unfortunate for our honest customers who have unknowingly gotten a hold of a bogus bill as you are now out the money.
